Minor Injury Service

Monday - Friday, 8.00 - 6.30

We are pleased to offer a minor injury service to the local population, regardless of which practice they are registered with. Alton Health centre has been offering such a service for 20 years since the town's A&E department was closed. 

We can care for most walking wounded although restrict ourselves to those injuries sustained with 48 hours. Major fractures, bleeds or head injuries will be quickly sent to a full A&E department in Basingstoke.

Once registered at reception, most patients are seen within 10 minutes by a triage nurse. They deal with 50% of problems, the other 50% are passed on to a duty doctor (average wait 15min). Within the practice is much experience in trauma care with both nurses and doctors. We have access to X-ray facilities at out local hospital (9.00 - 5.00)
