For a doctor between 6.30pm and 8.00am Monday to
Friday, and at weekends call Thamesdoc on 0208 390 9990
The Wilson Practice is open 8.00am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
We also offer some pre-bookable appointments on certain days from 7.00am or
up to 8.00pm.
Many problems that occur outside these hours are best left for your own doctor the next day.
Remember we have some 'book on the day', appointments available every day and we will always see emergencies.
Responsibility for emergency care rests with Thamesdoc between 6:30pm and 8:00am
on weekdays and all weekend, .
ThamesDoc was
initially a doctors' cooperative, with all the local doctors sharing out of hours work.
It is now a free standing
organisation, employing their own doctors( including those from local practices). For weekday evenings and weekend days
there are appointments available at several base surgeries in the area; our nearest is The
Chase Hospital in
Bordon. There is also a mobile doctor available to do home visits. However the car covers a large area and they will
only be willing to visit if it is absolutely impossible for you to get to the base surgery.
How does the out of hours service work?
- Call Thamesdoc direct on 0208 390 9990
- When the surgery is closed a tape-recorded message on our telephone will advise you of the
number.
- A clerk will take your details; name, address, telephone number, usual doctor and your symptoms.
- A doctor will ring you back. You will be offered
advice, a consultation at the base surgery at the Chase
Hospital, or a home visit if this is necessary.
- Emergency surgeries are run at the Chase Hospital from
9.00am to 10.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays and between 7.00pm and 10.30pm on weekdays.
- You will be strongly encouraged to attend the out of hours base if at all possible.
- Please do not attend the Chase Hospital unless you have arranged an appointment. You will be turned away without an
appointment.
- If the doctor deems a home visit necessary, they will attend in a specially equipped car. Particularly at night,
please look out for the car if it is expected, and ensure that your house is well lit.
Our out of hours service is monitored carefully, and as always we welcome constructive comments from our patients.
Comments, suggestions or complaints should be addressed to Thamesdoc
or NHS Hampshire Trust. We
at the practice would be interested
to hear of any problems but have no powers to investigate or change procedures.
Please refer to map for directions.
