Asthma Clinic

Sister Claire Muir - Tuesday 8.00 - 4.30 & Thursday 8.00 - 12.00
Sister Lynn Paice  Monday 2pm - 5pm by appointment at all times

Both sisters have a diploma in Asthma Care. The clinic aims to provide help, support and education for patients and families of those with asthma, and is run in close liaison with the doctors

We encourage all of our asthmatics on regular medication to attend the asthma clinic at least annually and for some, more frequently, as their condition dictates.

There is good evidence that regular attendance at clinic and monitoring and education of patients regarding their condition reduces the risk of emergency admission to hospital. By controlling symptoms well, the impact of asthma on everyday life can be significantly reduced.

We strongly advise all asthmatics to have an annual ‘flu jab’. They should also be immunised against pneumococcus (a type of pneumonia).
